An African-origin couple from Mozambique arrived at Sunflower Women’s Hospital after struggling with eight years of primary infertility and three failed IVF cycles in their country. The woman’s 4D ultrasound revealed an adenomyotic uterus with multiple large fibroids (5-6 cm), some pressing against the endometrial cavity, along with decreased ovarian reserve. Her husband’s fertility parameters were normal.

To improve her chances of conception, she underwent operative hysteroscopy and laparoscopic myomectomy, restoring the uterine cavity to a near-normal state. After three months of targeted treatment for adenomyosis, we proceeded with an IVF ovum donation cycle in her own uterus.

In November 2019, two embryos were transferred following careful endometrial preparation. To her joy, she conceived in the very first attempt at Sunflower Women’s Hospital and was blessed with a twin pregnancy (DCDA).

She remained under our care until 8 weeks of pregnancy before returning to her home country for further antenatal care and delivery. On July 20, 2020, she gave birth to two healthy twins in South Africa—a testament to the power of expert fertility treatment, perseverance, and hope.

At Sunflower Women’s Hospital, we specialize in turning infertility struggles into success stories with personalized treatment, advanced reproductive techniques, and compassionate care.
