Micro TESE Procedure Explained

When a man’s semen report shows no sperm, couples often panic. It feels like there’s no chance left. But that’s not the truth. Many times, the body still makes sperm they just don’t come out. The micro TESE procedure helps us find them. It’s a small, careful process that has helped many men at Sunflower Hospital become fathers.
Why We Do the Micro TESE Procedure
There are different male infertility causes. Some men have a blockage in the tubes. Some make fewer sperm. Sometimes, hormones or earlier infections affect how the testis works.
Before we decide anything, we do some male infertility tests hormone checks, scans, and semen studies. These help us see if the body is still producing sperm. If yes, then the micro TESE procedure becomes the right option. It helps find even a few good sperm directly from inside the testis.
How the Procedure Happens
It’s done under anesthesia, so there’s no pain. A small cut is made in the testis. The doctor uses a microscope to see inside and look for small areas where sperm are being made. That microscope helps us find what’s not visible otherwise.
Tiny bits of tissue from those spots are taken out and checked in the lab immediately. If sperm are found, they are saved for later treatments. The whole process is safe and short.
Who It Helps
We usually suggest the micro TESE procedure for men who have no sperm in their semen or very few. It’s also done when older treatments like TESA or PESA didn’t work.
Even one or two healthy sperm found during the process can make pregnancy possible. Men with male infertility causes like hormone issues, blocked tubes, or injuries often benefit from it.
After the Procedure
Most men go home the same day. There may be slight swelling or pain for a short while. Medicines help manage that. Recovery is quick.
Later, we repeat a few male infertility tests to check healing. The sperm collected are kept safely for use in IVF or ICSI.
Finding Hope Again
For many couples, the micro TESE procedure changes everything. It’s not a big surgery. It’s a small step that brings hope back.
At Sunflower Hospital, we treat every couple with care and respect. Infertility is not anyone’s fault. It’s a condition that can be treated. With the right tests, the right timing, and the right care, fatherhood is still possible.
