A couple who requires both donor egg and donor sperm due to reasons enlisted below are transferred with embryos formed from donor gametes in the IVF laboratory.

According to new ART ACT 2021,  Both egg donor and sperm donor should be screened and supply by ART Bank and there would be a legal contract between egg donor and recipient. Donors needs to be under go certain blood test and other tests to see the fitness. One donor can donate eggs only one recipient couple only and once in life time.

Indications

• The infertile couple, husband sperm cannot be retrieved even after surgical techniques and wife requires egg donation due to indications mentioned in previous section.
• Have been unsuccessful with other forms of ART
• Are at high risk of passing down genetic disorders but cannot pursue PGD.

• Once the screening is complete, consent is signed by oocyte donor and her husband to withdraw all legal rights to the offspring that shall be born thus.
• After selection of a matching egg donor for a recipient their menstrual cycles are synchronized with help of birth control pills.
• Donor is administered injections from day 2/3 of her menstrual cycle for a period of 8-10 days on antagonist ( short) protocol , during this time she undergoes trans vaginal sonography to detect follicular size and number on 2-3 occasions, egg retrieval is planned once follicles are mature sized.
• On day of donor’s egg retrieval, Donor Sperm sample need to get from ART bank for ICSI with donor eggs.
• Eggs thus collected are fertilized with donor sperm supply by ART bank and resulting good grade embryos are transferred back to uterus of recipient couple’s wife and excess are frozen for future use if necessary for the recipient couple only.
