Case of successful pregnancy in first embryo transfer cycle at Sunflower Infertility and IVF Center in a patient with 6 recurrent pregnancy losses.

A 29-year-old woman, married for seven years, approached us with a history of secondary infertility and six recurrent pregnancy losses. She had been diagnosed with PCOD, and her husband had severe oligoasthenoteratozoospermia. Despite these challenges, their blood tests were normal, and her ultrasound showed an adenomyotic uterus with a thin endometrium, while her ovaries were normal.
To improve the husband’s sperm count, we prescribed oral antioxidants and hormonal supplements. The wife was given antioxidants and multivitamins. Both underwent genetic counseling, and their karyotype reports came back normal. Following the geneticist’s advice, we decided to proceed with IVF using the couple’s own eggs and sperm, along with preimplantation genetic testing for (PGT-A).
We started her stimulation with recombinant FSH, and the couple underwent ICSI with PGT-A. This resulted in the formation of five high-quality day 5 blastocysts. After PGT-A, two embryos were found to be abnormal, and three were normal. We transferred the healthy embryos during the frozen embryo transfer (FET) cycle.
The patient conceived on the first attempt. The couple was overjoyed and could hardly believe that their six-year journey to achieve a pregnancy had finally come to a joyful conclusion. She delivered a healthy baby girl at term.
At Sunflower Infertility and IVF Center, we are delighted to have been a part of their journey and to have helped them achieve their dream of parenthood.
